Experience the stories of the pioneers, adventurers, and innovators who have followed the path of the Great Platte River Road through Nebraska for over 180 years.

During your tour of the Archway, your students will walk with the pioneers over the Oregon Trail, see a Pony Express rider come in to a Pony Express station, relive the driving of the Golden Spike that united the nation’s railroads, hear stories of life on America’s first transcontinental highway, the Lincoln Highway, and more. It’s a history lesson your students will never forget!

How Many Should We Expect?

Student rates: Elementary/High School/College: $5/each If you use one form of payment for the entire group, the student rate applies to everyone in the group.

NOTE:

For groups of 50 or more students, please divide your students into two or more smaller groups to ensure a more engaging and manageable museum experience. We recommend 1 adult per 10 students.

Lunch and Additional Activities

Lunch in the Archway Event Room and Picnic Shelter are subject to the availability of these spaces.

If Yes, our policy is to have small groups take turns shopping. Staffing limitations necessitate 1 adult assisting at the register with at least 1 other monitoring the students' shopping activites if at all possible.

Reenactment: ($2.00 per student)(Required)
Reenactments are 20 - 30 minute presentations during which the reenactor takes on a character that relates to some aspect of the Archway's historical theme. The reenactor performs a short presentation and engages the audience in a short discussion. (Availability is dependent upon volunteers)
