Since pre-historic times, the path along the Platte River through Nebraska, once called the Great Platte River Road, has been a thoroughfare for adventurers traveling across the continent. From the Oregon Trail era to toady, the Archway’s historical exhibit brings the story of the Great Platte River Road to life. Make the Archway part of your group’s travel adventure.


The Archway is happy to arrange catering for groups of 10 or more. We work with the best restaurants and caterers in central Nebraska to provide your group with a high-quality meal with no hassle for you. Our hometown of Kearney, NE, offers several catering choices and the Archway will work with you to find the right meal options for your group at the right price. No waiting in line for fast food or wondering if a restaurant can accommodate your group’s needs. The Archway’s event room can accommodate up to 150 people. Running early or late? No problem. We’ll have the meal you ordered ready when you need it.

Mom and Dad’s Bar-B-Que and Catering

Barbeque Buffet           $16.50+tax/person

Includes two meats, three home-style side dishes, dinner rolls, barbecue sauce, relish tray.

Potato Bar                      $14.00+tax/person

Includes a giant potato, your choice of meat, butter, sour cream, and cheese.

Deluxe Sack Lunch       $15.50+tax/person

Includes one big barbecue sandwich of your choice, one home-style side dish, chips, cookie, and bottled water.

Sack Lunch                     $13.50+tax/person

Includes one big barbeque sandwich of your choice, cookie, and bottled water.


Meat Options:

Beef Brisket, pulled pork, smoked turkey breast, smoked chicken, polish sausage, spicy sausage. Special order meats (additional cost): Roast beef, pork loin, pork ribs, pork chops, and prime rib. 


Home-style Side Options:

Mashed potatoes, green beans, BBQ beans, mac and cheese, coleslaw, potato salad, chips, onion strings, fries, and breaded okra.


Dessert Options:
