Featured performer: David Marsh – Music of the Plains – The pioneers who traveled the Oregon Trail came from far and wide. But they endured many common hardships and joys.  With this program, David Marsh celebrates the diverse backgrounds of the pioneers and shares stories and songs of their common experiences in building our nation.  The performance is free and open to the public and is presented with the support of Humanities Nebraska and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment.

Following the performance, join us for ice cream sodas served from the Archway’s vintage soda fountain. Donations welcome. 

Featured Performer: Dan Holtz – Nebraska Through Song and Story – Nebraska has a rich tradition of stories and songs.  In this program, Dan Holtz weaves traditional songs with stories from Nebraska’s most acclaimed authors together to form a tapestry that tells the story of our history from the 1850s through the turn of the century.  Hear the sounds and stories of the first Nebraskans, the pioneers who passed through Nebraska and those who eventually settled here. The performance is free and open to the public and is presented with the support of Humanities Nebraska and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment.

Featured Performer: Chris Sayre – A Musial Journey Across America: Songs That Helped Shape a Nation – From the engaging sea shanties of the Eastern Seaboard to the haunting songs of the Appalachian Mountains, from the blues of Mississippi to the pioneer songs of the America West, Chris Sayre brings to life the rich and varied music of the United States.  Performing on guitar, mandolin, banjo, concertina, lap dulcimer and musical saw, Chris leaves his audiences with a deeper understanding of our musical heritage and how we got to where we are today.  The performance is free and open to the public and is presented with the support of Humanities Nebraska and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment.

Featured Performer: Bill Behmer – Traditional Folk Music – This wide ranging survey of Anglo-American folk music includes British Isles ballads that are 500 years old along with the American folk songs they helped to inspire.  Hear these traditional tunes played on a variety of heritage instruments including the mountain dulcimer, fiddle and autoharp.  The performance is free and open to the public and is presented with the support of Humanities Nebraska and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment.

Why The Archway

With 90 outdoor acres and a unique facility, The Archway is the perfect place for your next event. From 5Ks to company picnics, car shows and more, The Archway can host a variety of events. We’d love to work with you and your group to make sure that your event goes off perfectly.

Space

With several space options to host your event, The Archway can hold up to 150 people indoors or outdoors. We’d love to sit down and talk about how The Archway can help you put on a memorable event.

Platte River Room – With space to seat up to 150 people at round tables and an antique soda fountain, The Platte River Room creates a memorable setting for any type of event. We provide seating and tables and have a sound system, stage and television available as well.

Rates start at $125 for a minimum of two hours (includes room rental, tables and chairs*). Each additional hour is $50/hr.** Click here to download a printable rental agreement and reserve the Platte River Room today!

*Table linens, napkins, sound system, stage and 7% tax not included in this price. **Please note that all alcohol must be supplied by an approved caterer. We require at least six (6) weeks notice that your party will need alcohol. Alcohol cannot be served without appropriate licensing. Licensing will be obtained by the caterer.

Outdoors – The NEW Archway Picnic Shelter is an excellent choice for hosting events of up to 150 people. Shelter rental includes picnic table seating as well as use of the charcoal grill that’s on location. Family reunions, business picnics, trail running or biking events, outdoor classroom and much more would work perfect at the new shelter.
