The Archway announced it will be closed February 20-26 while work is done to improve operational efficiencies.
Marketing Coordinator Jace Robinson said the biggest project that will be completed is centralizing the switches and breakers that start the exhibit’s audio and lights. He said currently, staff members must walk between three floors to flip breakers and switches to start everything.
Additionally, the facilities point-of-sale system will be upgraded. Robinson said, “A lot of the equipment we use is becoming less reliable due to age, so we will be updating the equipment to make sure we don’t have any hiccups when guests purchase items in our gift shop.”
Robinson said, “We’re always looking to improve efficiencies in every aspect of our operation and during this closure the projects that will be completed will be a big step toward some of our efficiency goals.”
Archway staff and volunteers will also be cleaning throughout the facility during the shut-down. The Archway will begin normal operating hours starting on Saturday, February 27.
