Join 1848 Venture Crew Civil War reenactors in observing the 107th anniversary of the Fort Kearney National Park Association re-union, during which association officials marked the south channel of the Platte River near Fort Kearny so that everyone would remember the history of the place where the trails westward crossed the river. The contours of the river have changed and the marker was moved from its original site. But you can still see the trail marker on display, today, at the Archway.

Mr. Lillyman, who is a native of Australia, moved to Kearney about 13 years ago. He will talk about his fascination with painting Nebraska landscapes and the Platte River in particular. It’s a scene that forces him, as an artist, to be spontaneous with watercolor. The results are always surprising and fresh. Mr. Lillyman’s talk will be followed by our November Soda Fountain Sundae concert.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

Just drop off your donation of non-perishable food in the Archway lobby and watch for regular updates on the local news throughout the month.
